Hydroactive antibacterial ointment with 48% medical-grade honey, indicated for the treatment of different types of acute and chronic wounds.

Helps create a moist environment conducive to healing, contributing to the cleansing and treatment of acute and chronic wounds. L-Mesitran Ointment is a hydroactive wound ointment formulated with 48% medical-grade honey. It can be used on superficial and acute wounds such as cuts, abrasions, and donor sites, as well as superficial and partial-thickness burns (1st and 2nd degree). It is also indicated for chronic wounds, including pressure ulcers, venous, arterial, and diabetic ulcers, oncological wounds, and surgical or post-operative wounds. The product can contribute to the removal of devitalized tissue through autolytic debridement and does not adhere to the wound bed. In addition to medical-grade honey, the formula contains hypoallergenic medical-grade lanolin (Medilan®), sunflower oil, cod liver oil, Calendula officinalis, Aloe barbadensis, vitamins C and E, and zinc oxide.

Clean and assess the wound according to the appropriate protocol. Apply a thin layer of L-Mesitran Ointment directly to the wound, using a sterile spatula when necessary. Cover the wound with a secondary dressing appropriate to the amount of exudate. Regularly assess the wound and surrounding tissues and replace the dressing according to the treatment protocol or whenever necessary. The frequency of application depends on the amount of exudate and the needs of the wound. In general, application can be repeated once the ointment has dissolved, approximately every 24–48 hours.

Do not use on people with hypersensitivity to the product or any of its components. For external use only. Do not use products whose packaging is damaged or after the expiry date. After opening, reseal the packaging and do not use the product for more than 3 months after opening. Wound treatment should be carried out according to appropriate guidelines and protocols, especially in the case of chronic, infected, extensive or complex wounds.
